Religion in Art

Tue Sep 15, 2009, 12:51 PM
Has anyone else noticed that there's an incredible one-sidedness regarding religious artwork on DA? Just try typing "religion" into the browse bar. There seems to be almost nothing promoting religion. They're all strictly "religion is bad" or "religion is for ignorant people." I find it unsettling that the art world is quickly distancing itself from any tradition and siding wholly with mainstream media and popular culture.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts. I'd like to see more religious art that has a positive view, and less pieces about hate.

Yes, art is expression. I'm well aware. I'm not saying that these people are necessarily wrong, I just think the shift seems to be rather lopsided.

Have you noticed anything of the like?

Haha oh Fraser. You know you transcend my frustrations with atheists. I still love you.

Haha :D

How've you been, man?
:iconchoochycheese:
Fantastic, job has started back up, and I'm pwning school. I think I have mild A.D.D. too. Seriously.
:iconwouldyouplease:
Super sweet. School pwnage is mandatory for success in life.

There are meds for A.D.D., it's no big deal. Most people who have it are undiagnosed, anyways. Certainly not something that's life ruining. Haha :D

And yeah, I think my days of vent are over. My internet will perpetually suck until I'm living on my own-- probably 3-4 years.

Oh well.

Well, I guess not ADD but something, It's because it just occured to me that I'm forced to keep my hands moving, which is kinda why computing keeps me busy. Weird that I am just realizing this now >.>
